About the Role

You will support the design of urban and rural roadways, create alignments, cross‑sections, grading and drainage layouts, and produce engineering drawings, 3D models and design details in partnership with senior staff and CAD technicians. Your responsibilities also include preparing technical reports, design summaries, quantity take‑offs and tender documents, participating in site visits and field reviews, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet safety, accessibility and sustainability standards. • Support design of urban and rural roadways, intersections, interchanges and active‑transport facilities. • Assist with horizontal and vertical alignments, cross‑sections, grading and drainage layouts. • Prepare engineering drawings, 3D models and detailed design documentation. • Develop technical reports, design summaries, quantity take‑offs and tender documents. • Participate in site visits and field reviews to gather data and resolve issues. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions. • Apply design standards, guidelines and best practices for safety and sustainability.

The Graduate Civil Engineer – Highways and Roads role offers a launchpad for recent civil engineering graduates to apply academic knowledge to real‑world transportation projects, working alongside seasoned engineers on roads, interchanges, and active‑transport corridors. The ideal candidate holds a recent or upcoming bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an interest in transportation, is eligible for Engineer‑in‑Training registration, and possesses foundational knowledge of roadway geometry, drainage and pavements gained through coursework or co‑op experience. Proficiency with civil design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation/OpenRoads, comfort handling survey/GIS/traffic data, strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset and a passion for sustainable infrastructure are essential. • Hold a recent or upcoming Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a transportation focus. • Eligible for Engineer‑in‑Training registration with a provincial engineering association. • Demonstrate knowledge of roadway geometry, drainage and pavements from coursework or co‑op experience. • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/OpenRoads or similar civil design software. • Comfortable working with survey, GIS, traffic and terrain data. • Exhibit strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
