About the Role

• Implement Mortenson’s environmental program for simple to moderately complex project sites and ensure construction compliance. • Develop site‑specific environmental plans and activities. • Review environmental submittals and attend pre‑construction meetings. • Enforce policies and procedures to meet federal, state, provincial and local regulations. • Design and deliver environmental orientation and training programs. • Lead onsite best management practices and monitor mitigation measures through inspections. • Collaborate with customers on regulatory reporting and documentation requirements. • Maintain operational knowledge of construction‑related environmental standards and regulations. • Interface with customer environmental personnel, consultants, and regulators. • Assist in developing company‑wide Environmental Management support programs.

Job postings remain open a minimum of five days, averaging 44 days, and Mortenson does not accept unsolicited agency communications without a valid agreement. • Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental management, science, biology, geology or related field. • Minimum four years of relevant experience. • Expertise in at least two areas such as erosion and sediment control, storm‑water pollution prevention, SPCC, aquatic resources or endangered species. • Strong understanding of applicable federal, state, provincial and local laws and policies. • Ability to interact with consultants and governmental agencies. • Proficient with PC, tablets and common software (Excel, Word). • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50%.

Benefits

The base pay for this position ranges from $89,500 to $120,800, with higher rates for offices in Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C. Compensation is positioned based on knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, and the role is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
