About the Role
In this position you will be involved in a range of commercial activities such as maintaining contract documentation, assisting with contract lifecycle management, developing supplier relationships and supporting risk‑management processes. You will also apply problem‑solving and communication skills to address everyday commercial challenges while building commercial knowledge through training and hands‑on experience. Participation in sustainability and operational improvement projects will further support Schneider’s broader goals. • Manage documentation and maintain accurate contract files and commercial records. • Assist in contract management, updating information and supporting lifecycle activities while ensuring compliance. • Help develop and maintain supplier relationships for long‑term partnerships. • Support risk management processes by identifying and mitigating commercial risks with internal teams. • Apply problem‑solving and communication skills to resolve day‑to‑day commercial challenges. • Develop commercial knowledge through training and hands‑on experience to inform decision‑making. • Participate in sustainability‑focused and operational improvement projects. • Manage multiple tasks, timelines and priorities effectively. • Communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders at all levels. • Identify issues and develop practical solutions quickly. • Ensure accuracy and quality in planning, documentation and delivery.

What You Bring
The Digital Energy Commercial Apprentice role is based in London and is part of a UK Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship Programme with a salary of £23,000. As a Level 6 Commercial Apprentice you will support the commercial success of Schneider Electric by combining strategic thinking with practical business skills, analysing market trends, managing commercial risks and contributing to profitable decision‑making. Your mission is to bring fresh perspectives, collaborate across teams and help deliver value‑driven solutions that strengthen the company’s competitive position and drive sustainable growth. Essential attributes include the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, clear communication with stakeholders at all levels, quick identification of issues and practical solution development, high accuracy in planning and documentation, and effective teamwork with diverse groups. Desirable qualities are an understanding of energy management, confidence in building professional relationships and comfort thriving in a fast‑paced, change‑driven environment. No prior experience is required, but you must meet the education criteria and the role does not offer visa sponsorship. Applicants need a minimum of five GCSEs (including Maths and English) at grade C/4 or equivalent, achieving 112 UCAS points, or an appropriate Level 3 qualification such as a T‑Level, BTEC Extended Diploma or relevant apprenticeship. Your training will be delivered by Nottingham Trent University and the employer. On‑the‑job training is provided by Schneider Electric and includes supervision, mentorship, induction, networking, performance reviews and mental‑health support. Off‑the‑job training accounts for at least 20% of your working hours (average six hours per week) and is protected time aimed at achieving the apprenticeship standard and occupational competence. The role requires a 37.5‑hour work week, Monday to Friday, with start and finish times agreed with your line manager.
