About the Role
The Insulation Installer reads blueprints and documentation, selects appropriate insulation materials, and prepares work sites. They measure, cut, and fit insulation, secure it with various covers and sealants, and install protective sheet metal around insulated pipes. All work follows hazardous waste handling guidelines and safety protocols. • Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions • Select and prepare appropriate insulation materials (fiberglass, foam, etc.) • Transport materials, set up work sites, and prepare surfaces with adhesives or pins • Measure, cut, and shape insulation to fit surfaces and around obstructions • Cover, seal, or finish insulated surfaces using plastic covers, canvas, sealants, tape, cement, or asphalt mastic • Install protective sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws • Secure insulation with staples, trowels, paintbrushes, or caulking guns • Follow hazardous waste handling and safety guidelines, including personal protective equipment • Remove or seal old asbestos insulation according to safety procedures • Complete records, maintain tools/equipment, and perform clean-up and housekeeping tasks • Work within precise accuracy limits and apply shop mathematics to solve problems • Plan work, select proper tools, and compare sizes/shapes of objects • Visualize three-dimensional objects from plans and make decisions based on measurable criteria

What You Bring
The role requires precise workmanship, shop math skills, and the ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from plans. Candidates must be comfortable working at heights, follow strict safety and project rules, and maintain tools and housekeeping standards. Preferred certification is NCCER Industrial Insulator; a background check, drug test, and a valid driver’s license are required. • Hold or be willing to obtain NCCER Industrial Insulator certification • Pass DISA background check, drug test, and possess a valid driver’s license
