About the Role
Interns will regularly use technical software to analyze, produce, and quality‑control deliverables for clients. They will support pre‑construction activities on structural projects such as bridges and retaining walls, preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates. The role involves solving complex problems, assisting project managers, and collaborating across disciplines to realize client visions. Interns will gain familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations as well as Kimley‑Horn and client standards, and will learn one or more software programs including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, MicroStation, VISSIM, OpenRoads, Synchro, and GIS. • Use technical software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) to analyze and quality‑control client deliverables. • Support pre‑construction for bridges, retaining walls, and other structural projects. • Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for bridge and structural work. • Solve complex engineering problems and collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams. • Apply federal, state, and local regulations along with company standards.

Candidates must be pursuing an ABET‑accredited engineering degree (bachelor’s or master’s) in civil, environmental, structural, mechanical, electrical, biological, biosystems, chemical, agricultural engineering, or engineering technology.
