About the Role

As a Data Engineer at Rolls‑Royce, you will implement complex data projects that collect, parse, manage, analyse, and visualise large data sets across multiple platforms. Working closely with business analysts and data scientists, you will translate customer business problems into data‑driven solutions, secure the data supply chain, and visualise outcomes that support improved decision‑making. You will apply modern technologies to address big‑data challenges and develop innovative solutions. You will collaborate with colleagues to understand and implement requirements, ensuring data is ingested from various sources, cleansed, joined, and transformed into unified datasets. Implementation of designed solutions on the chosen platform will be accompanied by infrastructure planning, testing, error correction, and re‑testing to meet acceptable results. You will also manage data security, archiving, structure, and storage throughout the lifecycle. • Implement complex data projects focusing on collection, parsing, management, analysis, and visualization of large datasets. • Secure the data supply chain and integrate data from diverse sources into unified datasets. • Design, build, and optimize big data pipelines using Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Azure Data Factory. • Perform cluster capacity planning, workload optimization, and CI/CD via Azure DevOps. • Lead technical teams delivering end‑to‑end solutions and ensure infrastructure meets requirements. • Apply data modeling techniques to improve solution performance. • Collaborate with business analysts and data scientists in an agile, self‑organising team. • Uphold safety, integrity, simplicity, and business impact in decision‑making.

Experience with data modelling, Azure/IaaS/PaaS/SaaS implementations, and operating‑system‑level deployment on Microsoft and Linux platforms is also required. Rolls‑Royce expects a winning mindset aligned with its strategy and guided by behaviours such as putting safety first, doing the right thing, keeping it simple, and making a difference. Candidates may be required to complete online cognitive and behavioural assessments as part of the selection process.
