About the Role

The Director of Development will manage and coordinate land entitlement and development processes for new residential or commercial projects. This role oversees design engineering, production planning, regulatory approvals and collaborates closely with Marketing, Finance, Community Management and Guest Builders to ensure seamless project execution. Key deliverables include supporting the executive team in identifying acquisition opportunities, conducting due‑diligence, and securing planning approvals; creating effective mechanisms to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and directing engineering workloads to meet business goals while maintaining high‑quality, timely deliverables. • Identify and acquire new community sites, managing due‑diligence and planning approvals. • Oversee land entitlement, design engineering, production planning and regulatory compliance. • Coordinate with Marketing, Finance, Community Management and Guest Builders for project integration. • Build and maintain relationships with regulators, joint‑venture partners and consultants. • Ensure timely, high‑quality delivery of community development applications and permits. • Establish performance metrics and drive quality results within the development department. • Lead, mentor and evaluate staff and contracted consultants, providing feedback and guidance. • Influence executive leadership and external agencies through effective communication and negotiation. • Travel to project sites and conduct inspections under varied weather conditions.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a four‑year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Urban Planning, possesses 12+ years of development management experience, and brings strong strategic thinking, business acumen and analytical skills. Excellent influencing, negotiation, interpersonal and communication abilities are required, as well as the capacity to lead, mentor and evaluate staff and contractors. • Hold a 4‑year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Urban Planning and 12+ years of development management experience. • Demonstrate strategic thinking, strong business acumen and analytical capabilities.
