About the Role
The job is a Site Supervisor, Trainee for Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration business, based remotely in England with initial site work in North London. The role involves leading all on‑site activities across start‑up, construction, erection, commissioning and maintenance phases, ensuring cost‑effective delivery per contract specifications, quality, schedule and safety. Visa sponsorship is not available. The supervisor will plan on‑site tasks with the Project Manager, allocate resources and equipment, and coordinate with customers and external parties on construction targets, health‑and‑safety requirements and site policies. They are responsible for the site from initial hand‑over until final hand‑over, overseeing start‑up through commissioning, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring proper handling, storage and installation of equipment. The role requires maintaining up‑to‑date risk assessments and method statements for each work package, ensuring all on‑site personnel are trained and safety‑focused, and controlling site‑related costs by monitoring spend against forecasts and estimating final costs. Documentation must be kept current in the document handling system, and sub‑contractors must be managed to meet quality, progress and delivery dates. Regular reporting to the Project Manager on HSE, quality, progress and cost is expected. • Plan and schedule on‑site activities together with the Project Manager, securing required resources and equipment. • Coordinate construction targets, health‑and‑safety requirements and site policies with customers and external resources. • Oversee the site from hand‑over to completion, managing start‑up, construction, erection, testing and commissioning phases. • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and local stakeholders. • Ensure proper handling, storage and installation of equipment to prevent damage. • Maintain up‑to‑date risk assessments and method statements compliant with the project HSE plan. • Provide training and promote health‑and‑safety awareness for all on‑site personnel. • Monitor and control site‑related costs, comparing actual spend to forecasts and estimating final costs. • Keep documentation current in the document handling system and use latest revisions on site. • Manage sub‑contractors to achieve required quality, progress and delivery dates. • Report regularly to the Project Manager on HSE, quality, progress and cost performance.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or possess equivalent skills, with experience in construction or installation preferred and a basic understanding of transmission regulations and current HSE legislation.
