About the Role

The Stationary Equipment Technician repairs and maintains recycling equipment, heavy equipment, and light trucks to ensure safe and productive operations. Typical tasks include routine maintenance of hydraulic systems, industrial electrical systems, 480V balers, conveyor systems, and compactors. The technician diagnoses mechanical issues using charts, diagnostic software, and manuals, then performs repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and rolling stock. They replace parts such as pistons, gears, valves, conveyor belts, motors, and hydraulic cylinders, and may also handle plumbing, electrical, and HVAC installations. Work includes interpreting vehicle condition reports, communicating with supervisors and operators, completing repair paperwork, and submitting daily consumable reports in the fleet management system while adhering to safety policies. • Diagnose mechanical problems using charts, diagnostic software, and technical manuals. • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on recycling equipment, heavy equipment, and light trucks. • Replace components such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, bearings, conveyor belts, electric motors, and hydraulic cylinders. • Interpret vehicle condition reports and repair orders, and coordinate with supervisors and equipment operators. • Document repairs, parts usage, and work hours, and submit daily consumables reports in the fleet management system. • Repair and install plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems as required. • Maintain safety compliance while servicing rolling stock like forklifts, skid steers, trailers, and front loaders.

What You Bring

Preferred qualifications include PLC troubleshooting ability, mechanical and electrical aptitude, prior manufacturing and conveyor experience, a valid driver’s license, and a mechanical or trade school certificate. Minimum requirements are at least one year of equipment maintenance experience or a trade school certification. • PLC troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with mechanical and electrical aptitude. • Prior experience in manufacturing environments and working with conveyors. • Valid driver’s license and mechanical or trade school certification.
