About the Role

The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for directing the activities of the shipping and receiving team, ensuring shipments are processed accurately and on time while maintaining proper inventory levels and adhering to quality standards. This role collaborates with cross‑functional teams to support overall supply chain and logistics operations and implements measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency. Key duties include leading the team, overseeing daily shipping and receiving tasks, coordinating with internal departments such as procurement, warehouse, and customer service, and monitoring inventory to prevent overstocking or shortages. The coordinator also ensures proper packaging, labeling, and documentation, addresses shipment discrepancies, utilizes shipping software for tracking and reporting, and continuously seeks process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. • Lead and train the shipping and receiving team, providing performance feedback. • Oversee daily shipping/receiving operations, ensuring accurate processing, packaging, and documentation. • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and customer service to synchronize orders and shipments. • Monitor inventory levels to avoid overstock or shortages and maintain shipment records. • Resolve shipment issues such as delays, damages, or order discrepancies. • Utilize shipping software to track shipments, manage inventory, and generate activity reports. • Optimize shipping workflows to increase efficiency, cut costs, and boost customer satisfaction. • Maintain a safe, organized work environment in compliance with safety regulations. • Collaborate with carriers, suppliers, and external partners to schedule transportation. • Support implementation of new shipping technologies and tools. • Analyze shipping metrics to identify trends and recommend process improvements. • Assist in developing shipping policies, procedures, and best practices.

What You Bring

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of experience in shipping and logistics, along with forklift and crane certifications. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of shipping processes, transportation modes, inventory management, and be proficient with shipping software. Excellent organizational, time‑management, leadership, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to solve problems, communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and maintain attention to detail while adapting to changing priorities under pressure. Work conditions involve lifting up to 50 lb, sitting or standing for most of the shift, and operating in a manufacturing facility that may experience hot or cold temperatures, dust, and occasional chemical fumes. • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of shipping/logistics experience. • Possess forklift and crane certifications. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of shipping processes, transportation modes, and inventory management. • Proficient in shipping software for tracking and reporting. • Exhibit excellent organizational, time‑management, and leadership abilities.
