About the Role

The Field Winding Engineer provides electrical and winding repair services for a broad range of original equipment such as generators, motors, and ancillary systems. Work is performed on‑site at customer locations globally, covering inspection, testing, maintenance, and repairs of high‑voltage windings. • Perform winding inspection, electrical testing, maintenance and repairs on generator high‑voltage windings at customer sites worldwide. • Conduct basic mechanical strip‑down and rebuild of machines to access windings, including low‑ and high‑voltage testing. • Execute visual inspections of stator, rotor, and excitation systems and carry out in‑situ winding repairs such as stator re‑wedge. • Participate in team‑based on‑site stator strip and rewind operations. • Assist mechanical service engineers on assignments, even when not directly related to winding. • Supervise and train internal and external customers. • Interpret technical drawings and specifications, prepare method statements, and produce detailed reports for customers. • Attend technical meetings on‑site and at customer premises. • Conduct on‑site risk assessments for each assignment and complete required documentation.

What You Bring

• Hold a technical degree from an accredited institution and at least three years of field service experience. • Demonstrate proficiency with basic hand tools, multimeters, megger, rigging equipment, generator‑specific tooling, and HIPot testers. • Possess experience with air, hydrogen, and liquid‑cooled generators (2‑ and 4‑pole) – desirable. • Knowledge of generator high‑voltage testing methods such as PI, DC leakage, and Hipot. • Familiarity with robotic test equipment (RoGIS, MAGIC, MAGIC Jr.) is a plus. • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 75‑85 % of the time, often on short notice.
