About the Role
• Remain employed for 12 months after obtaining the CDL • Perform pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of the assigned vehicle • Safely operate a commercial truck along assigned routes, following route sheets and dispatcher instructions • Load, compact, and unload refuse using manual or automatic controls per safety policies • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers according to procedures • Monitor waste for unacceptable material and report safety issues • Keep the vehicle operationally ready by cleaning and maintaining equipment each trip • After licensing, perform full driver duties in Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll‑Off services

What You Bring
Republic Services is seeking a Driver Trainee who will be trained to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Upon successful completion of the training program, the trainee will transition into a full‑time driver role within one of the company’s service lines, such as Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll‑Off. The trainee will engage in a comprehensive curriculum that includes classroom instruction, on‑route training, and hands‑on driving experience using a loaned truck. After earning the CDL, the individual must remain employed with Republic Services for a full twelve‑month period and will be responsible for vehicle inspections, safe operation of the truck, and proper handling of waste materials according to company policies. Candidates must have no legal barriers to obtaining a CDL and should be prepared to meet the licensing requirements. The role also calls for a commitment to safety, the ability to follow detailed route instructions, and a willingness to report any safety concerns promptly. • Must be eligible to obtain a commercial driver’s license
