About the Role
The Center Safety, Security, and Transportation Supervisor directly oversees senior officers, security officers/drivers, and is responsible for center security, safety, fire prevention, property protection, transportation, and fleet management in accordance with government and corporate directives. While primarily a day‑shift role, the position may require after‑hour response for emergencies. The position is funded through June 30 2026 with potential continuation pending future funding and is performed on‑site at the Gulfport Job Corps Center. Key duties include planning and directing departmental activities, training staff, developing safety and emergency plans, conducting inspections and audits, managing transportation logistics, overseeing the department budget, and ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. The supervisor also coordinates with other departments, maintains security of facilities and equipment, conducts fire drills, serves as liaison with law‑enforcement agencies, and promotes a harassment‑free, zero‑tolerance environment. • Supervise senior officers, security officers/drivers, and security staff. • Oversee center security, safety, fire prevention, property protection, transportation, and fleet management. • Develop and maintain safety, fire, emergency, and risk assessment plans. • Conduct safety inspections, fire drills, and compliance audits; generate required reports. • Manage student and staff transportation and ensure 24/7 coverage with substitute staffing. • Prepare, monitor, and control the departmental budget and expenditures. • Implement and update safety and transportation policies; coordinate with other departments. • Investigate accidents/injuries and handle reporting to insurance, DOL, and corporate offices. • Maintain security of buildings, vehicles, and equipment; test alarms and fire systems. • Act as liaison with law‑enforcement and fire departments; perform authorized searches and seizures. • Provide OSHA training, orientation, and in‑service programs for staff and students. • Promote a harassment‑free, zero‑tolerance environment and mentor student career development. • Ensure proper student check‑in/check‑out procedures and adherence to zero‑tolerance policies.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold an associate degree or equivalent in a related field, or possess comparable experience, and have at least three years of relevant law‑enforcement, security, or safety experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to pass a background check and drug test are required.
