About the Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer you will work on projects that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems, making a real difference to the environment and local communities. You will shape civil functions throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design through to commissioning, ensuring that all civil aspects are carefully considered and integrated. This role is employed by Mott MacDonald but will involve working across the joint‑venture business with both Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley colleagues. Employees contribute to projects that secure water supplies for future generations and protect homes and businesses from flood risk, delivering tangible benefits to communities. • Provide design support and ensure schemes comply with legislation and standards. • Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical, and safe solutions. • Engage positively with clients, managing relationships through a one‑team approach. • Manage integration of civil design with other disciplines and produce necessary documentation. • Act as technical checker and conduct technical reviews of project documents. • Identify and implement improvements such as standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools. • Conduct site reviews to verify buildability and system integration. • Coach and mentor civil engineers, allocating appropriate resources to projects. • Deliver high‑quality outputs meeting design, quality and safety standards. • Participate in annual bonus schemes and receive payment for professional institution subscriptions. • Take part in structured learning and development programmes fast‑tracking chartership.

What You Bring
Mott MacDonald Bentley does not currently sponsor Skilled Worker visas following the UK Government’s changes in April 2024, but welcomes applications from candidates eligible for other immigration routes that do not require sponsorship. • Hold a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. • Possess Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a recognized institution. • Hold a valid driving licence and be willing to travel across the operational region.
