About the Role

The role is for a Structural Inspector based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The inspector will supervise and inspect all structural works related to the project, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and safety standards. Key responsibilities include overseeing demolition and construction of various structures, maintaining project documentation, verifying approved materials, coordinating sub‑consultants, and supporting quality‑control and safety practices. The inspector also handles emergency call‑backs, documents non‑conformance, and may mentor junior inspectors, performing all duties in a safe manner. • Supervise and inspect structural works for the project. • Conduct inspections to ensure work complies with contract specifications. • Perform demolition of structural elements and construction of reservoirs, lifting stations, landscaping structures, lagoons, pools, substations, retaining walls, tunnels, bridges, etc. • Maintain project office files, quantity calculations, and daily diaries. • Prepare daily reports and required documentation. • Verify that only approved materials are used. • Conduct labor compliance interviews and maintain as‑built plans. • Identify potential conflicts, issues, and propose solutions to the supervisor. • Collect, review, and file Certificates of Compliance, Safety Data Sheets, inspection tags, and related material information. • Report installed quantities for payment applications and change orders. • Coordinate subconsultants for surveying and material testing. • Assist in developing job safety practices and reporting. • Support creation of quality‑control procedures and reports. • Respond to emergency call‑backs at the project site. • Document non‑conformance and help determine resolutions. • Provide technical guidance to lower‑level inspectors. • Perform work safely with attention to public safety.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field and possess at least eight years of overall experience, with a minimum of five years in structural inspection of infrastructure and pumping or lifting stations. They should demonstrate strong reading of plans, engineering calculations, proficiency with Microsoft Office and project software, and the ability to review schedules and payment estimates. • Hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field. • Minimum eight years overall experience, including at least five years in structural inspection of infrastructure and pumping/lifting stations. • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, public‑works contracts, and construction processes. • Strong mathematics and engineering skills for calculations, graphs, and charts. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project software. • Capability to review schedules, progress pay estimates, and extra‑work bills per client and industry standards. • Effective reporting, diary‑keeping, and communication skills in English. • Good judgment, time‑management, hazard recognition, and teamwork in dynamic site environments.
