About the Role

The role involves supporting project managers with a variety of civil engineering tasks, including horizontal and vertical alignments, grading and drainage design, streetscape and roadway improvements, multimodal design such as multi-use trails and complete streets, and signage, striping, and signalization plans. As a critical team member, you will receive on-the-job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions. • Perform horizontal and vertical alignment design • Conduct grading and drainage design • Develop streetscape and roadway improvement plans • Design multimodal elements such as multi-use trails and complete streets • Prepare signage, striping, and signalization plans

Kimley-Horn's San Antonio Texas (TX) office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Roadway team. This position is not remote. Candidates must have at least two years of experience with a civil engineering design firm and hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an ABET-accredited program. An Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months) is required, along with working knowledge of MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential. • Minimum 2 years experience with a civil engineering design firm • Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university • Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification (or obtain within 12 months) • Proficiency in MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D • Strong communication, urgency, attention to detail, and teamwork skills
