About the Role

In this role you will lead the company’s safety culture, manage subcontractors and overall workflow, and oversee staff, suppliers, and compliance programs for small or portioned large projects. You will develop work plans, control the project site, run daily stand‑ups and trade meetings, and coordinate progress and OAC meetings. Scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking will be performed in partnership with the Project Manager while you keep owners, designers, authorities, and team members informed. Documentation, quality assurance, material and equipment logistics, and timecard approvals are also key responsibilities, as is supporting project closeout and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion. Superintendent 2 duties include managing moderately complex stand‑alone projects from inception to completion, taking ownership of schedule, production, safety and quality, and actively identifying and mitigating project risks. You will leverage experience to diagnose problems, propose solutions, and manage deliverables from internal functions such as IPS and logistics. Participation in project pursuits and negotiation of change orders with owners and architects is also expected. • Lead safety culture, mentor staff, investigate incidents and retrain as needed. • Manage subcontractors and overall job workflow. • Oversee staff, subcontractors, suppliers and compliance programs (Safety, Quality, EEO) for project portions. • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self‑performed tasks. • Coordinate and control the project site. • Lead daily stand‑up and weekly trade meetings. • Attend and manage progress and OAC meetings. • Create, adjust and implement project schedule with the Project Manager. • Track and monitor project budget and costs using management system data. • Communicate key information to owners, design team, authorities, subcontractors and suppliers. • Maintain project documentation, update drawings, logs and inspection records. • Approve unit cost data and produce daily and weekly reports. • Evaluate self‑perform work progress and make adjustments. • Manage material and equipment requirements. • Support MOC and DLSC procurement and approval processes. • Assist in selecting formwork, tools and equipment for self‑perform work. • Manage timecard approvals ensuring accurate hours and cost codes. • Ensure quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC standards and external resources. • Supervise pre‑punch activities and coordinate project closeout with owners and authorities. • Develop and adjust project pre‑plan with field leadership throughout lifecycle. • Partner with field leadership to establish project staffing. • Work with project management to identify schedule and cost impacts of changes. • Negotiate project changes with owners and architects. • Prepare and present at project review meetings, including monthly reviews. • Participate in buy‑out meetings with subcontractors and vendors. • Apply contract terms and conditions for owners and subcontractors. • Identify and recruit top talent. • Promote diversity and inclusion, ensuring non‑discrimination policies are enacted. • Manage complex stand‑alone projects from start to finish. • Take responsibility for management, scheduling, production, safety and quality. • Identify, understand and mitigate project risks. • Diagnose problems and recommend solutions for team implementation. • Manage deliverables from internal resources such as IPS and logistics. • Participate in project pursuits and negotiations. • Conduct effective presentations (intermediate). • Build relationships that transcend individual projects. • Manage budgets, maximize profitability and generate future work through relationships (intermediate). • Build collaborative relationships internally and externally.

What You Bring

The position requires at least five years of construction experience, three years of field supervision, and preferably a Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering. Candidates must demonstrate intermediate proficiency in MS Office, project management, scheduling, and Lean principles, as well as strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills. Knowledge of trade scopes, self‑perform labor productivity, budgeting, layout, crane flagging, and document control are essential. A valid unrestricted driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 50 lb are required; occasional travel, relocation and exposure to extreme temperatures may be necessary, and non‑traditional hours may be needed to meet project demands.
