About the Role
The Utility Clerk is responsible for accurate and timely entry, validation, and processing of utility accounts payable transactions. This role ensures compliance with established procedures and supports payment reconciliation and documentation management. • Enter utility accounts payable transactions into accounting systems. • Handle scanned documentation and capture missing invoice data. • Validate documentation against supporting documents for accuracy and completeness. • Review documents for compliance and resolve non‑compliant items or missing information. • Safeguard payment documents and ensure proper payment authorization. • Cancel and reject invoices that do not meet requirements. • Verify mathematical accuracy of invoices and resolve errors with concerned parties. • Apply appropriate accounting codes based on business unit and expense type. • Process accounts payable payments according to established procedures. • Obtain invoice and payment approvals from business unit leaders. • File, maintain, and retrieve documentation for audit support. • Process high volumes of data with strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Perform basic mathematical calculations and identify inaccuracies. • Communicate effectively for data exchange and clarification.

What You Bring
• Possess a community college diploma in accounting or equivalent experience. • Have experience in clerical accounting/accounts payable work. • Proficient with accounting systems and MS Office applications. • No licenses or professional accreditation required.

Benefits
This position is a contract, full‑time role with an annual salary range of $44,303 to $52,121. The starting salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, education, and performance related to the role.
