About the Role
The technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and operating wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. Duties include climbing towers and ladders, erecting various tower types, off‑loading material, preparing sites, and installing carriers on new and existing structures. Additional tasks involve assisting with helicopter, crane, and gin‑pole tower erection, antenna and transmission line installations, and foundation, grounding, and conduit work. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecom equipment. • Climb towers and ladders to perform installations and maintenance. • Conduct erection of various tower types, including monopole and guyed towers. • Off‑load material, manage inventory, and prepare/clean job sites. • Install new carriers on new builds and existing towers. • Assist tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles. • Assemble monopole, weld‑ and knock‑down self‑support, and guyed towers. • Install microwave parabolic, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas. • Install transmission lines, including foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and elliptical waveguide. • Perform foundation, grounding, and conduit installations with associated electrical work. • Mentor and train less‑experienced technicians. • Follow MasTec Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI). • Read and interpret technical prints and work instructions.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high school diploma, at least four years of tower experience, and the ability to read and follow technical prints. A solid safety record, the ability to lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours, climb towers, and hold a valid driver’s license are required; a PWSA certification is a plus. The ideal applicant enjoys hands‑on problem solving, mentors less‑experienced technicians, and seeks long‑term projects. • Possess at least 4 years tower experience and a high school diploma; PWSA certification is a plus. • Ability to lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours, and hold a valid driver’s license.
