About the Role

The Critical Environment Engineering Team provides dedicated services to a client account, managing and optimizing critical infrastructure in data centers where uptime is essential. This position offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge projects such as emergency power, HVAC controls, building automation, and energy‑management platforms, requiring 24/7, day, night, and weekend availability. Daily responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments of UPS, generators, chillers, and building automation systems, developing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and controls issues. The engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design system upgrades, monitor real‑time performance, prepare detailed technical reports, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. • Assess UPS, generators, chillers, and building automation systems. • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs. • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls issues using advanced diagnostics. • Design and implement system upgrades, retrofits, and energy‑efficiency improvements. • Monitor real‑time performance via building management systems and respond to alarms. • Prepare technical reports and recommendations for clients and stakeholders. • Mentor junior engineers and technicians; lead root‑cause investigations. • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and regulators to ensure code compliance.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least two years of experience in critical facility operations, commissioning, or maintenance, with extensive knowledge of mission‑critical systems and proficiency in building automation and energy‑management platforms. A strong understanding of electrical power distribution, controls, instrumentation, and industry standards such as NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE, and TIA‑942 is required, along with EPA 608 Universal or Journeyman Electrician certification. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering, data‑center engineering experience, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification, and familiarity with commissioning, LEED requirements, and advanced analytics or IoT technologies for predictive maintenance. The role does not provide visa sponsorship and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. • Minimum 2 years of critical facility operations or maintenance experience. • Proficiency with building automation and energy‑management platforms. • EPA 608 Universal or Journeyman Electrician certification required. • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering preferred. • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar certification preferred. • Experience with data‑center engineering, commissioning, and LEED standards. • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications. • 24/7 shift availability, including nights and weekends. • On‑site position in Spartanburg, SC; no visa sponsorship provided.
