Job Highlights
About the Role
The Power Electronics Engineer role invites you to pioneer the next generation of innovation within an international environment renowned for brilliance. You will develop your skills to the highest levels while contributing to cutting‑edge power solutions. The position focuses on research, design, and development of new products and on interfacing power systems for diesel gensets, utilities, and microgrids. You will work on both hardware and software aspects of power conversion. As the architect of power‑conversion applications, you will define technical requirements, guide manufacturers, size systems, and select components such as filters and transformers. You will design control systems for R&D programs, create custom genset paralleling solutions, and establish testing and validation regimes with laboratory setups. Additionally, you will design interfaces among proprietary hardware, collaborate with controls and governor suppliers, develop electrical‑mechanical simulation models, and analyze voltage regulators, ECUs, PLCs and protective relays while adhering to engineering standards and ERP quality procedures. • Architect power‑conversion applications and grids, including algorithms and software. • Define technical requirements and guide power‑electronics manufacturers throughout projects. • Size systems and select power‑electronics components such as filters and transformers. • Design control systems for R&D programs and custom Genset paralleling applications. • Establish testing and validation procedures with laboratory setups. • Create interfaces between proprietary hardware (ECU, control panels, PLC, HMI). • Collaborate with controls and governor manufacturers to improve functionality. • Develop simulation interfaces linking electrical and mechanical Genset models. • Analyze voltage regulators, engine ECUs, PLCs and protective relays. • Follow engineering standards, ERP quality procedures and Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct.
