What You Bring
We have an opportunity for a Trainee Line Mechanic (Transmission) to join Downer’s team based in Taupō. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced Line Mechanics and Supervisors, learning the skills required to support the construction, maintenance and fault diagnosis/rectification of transmission network equipment and installations. You’ll complete required training and study towards registration and a practising certificate, while gaining valuable hands‑on experience in the field. • Level 1 (School Certificate) passes in English and Maths • Current Class 1 driver’s licence (minimum restricted) with a clean driving record • Good verbal and written communication skills • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn • Interest in the electrical industry or completion of a pre‑trades course • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual work in outdoor and challenging conditions
