About the Role
The role involves planning and directing onsite activities at client locations for storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The manager oversees onsite personnel, acts as liaison between the client and vendors, and maintains safety and environmental standards. Essential duties include coordinating logistics for waste transportation, consulting with clients to identify cost‑saving opportunities, conducting inspections to ensure regulatory compliance, and handling client and vendor financial obligations such as invoicing and contracts. The position also promotes a safety culture through training and may require occasional labor‑intensive tasks like drum collection. • Coordinate hazardous and non‑hazardous waste transportation logistics, including profiling, scheduling, manifesting, and loading. • Consult with clients to develop and implement cost‑saving proposals. • Perform inspections and reporting to ensure compliance with client and governmental regulations. • Manage client and vendor financial duties such as invoicing, reporting, and contract administration. • Promote site safety by training personnel on safety, environmental, federal, state, and local regulations. • Occasionally perform labor‑intensive tasks like drum collection and bulking.

What You Bring
Required qualifications consist of a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, business, or a related field—or a high school diploma with four years of relevant experience—plus at least two years of additional experience, HAZWOPER, RCRA/DOT compliance knowledge, and OSHA 24‑hour certification. Applicants must also meet potential drug, alcohol, and vaccination testing requirements. Desired skills include budgeting, project management, customer and vendor management, training and communication, entrepreneurial thinking, supervisory and team‑building abilities, problem solving, strategic thinking, and strong leadership and business acumen. Candidates should be self‑motivated, decisive, and able to work with urgency. The work environment requires frequent use of fine motor skills, physical effort handling objects up to 50 lb, exposure to occupational hazards such as chemicals, cuts, burns, and environmental conditions like dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes; the typical setting is a medical facility.
