About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with sales, R&D, manufacturing and service teams, integrating power‑quality equipment such as active harmonic filters, STATCOMs and power factor correction devices into existing electrical infrastructure. They will also maintain awareness of industry standards, regulations and safety practices, and will serve as the primary technical liaison for clients throughout the project lifecycle. • Lead technical project management from inception to completion, adhering to timelines, budget and quality standards. • Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications and bill of materials for power‑quality solutions. • Oversee integration of equipment (active harmonic filters, STATCOMs, surge protection, power factor correction) with existing electrical systems. • Plan, execute and document factory and site acceptance tests to verify functionality. • Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting during installation, commissioning and operation. • Prepare comprehensive documentation including drawings, manuals, test reports and progress updates. • Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, presenting solutions and ensuring satisfaction. • Collaborate with sales, R&D, manufacturing and service teams to ensure seamless project execution. • Monitor industry standards, codes and regulations, and implement risk mitigation strategies. • Ensure compliance with internal and external safety, integrity and regulatory requirements.

What You Bring
Hitachi Energy seeks a Project Engineer specializing in Power Quality Solutions. The engineer will drive technical execution and delivery of projects that improve power quality, covering design, specification, commissioning, and client support. The focus is on ensuring optimal performance and reliability of cutting‑edge solutions. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Engineering, with a master’s degree considered a plus. They need three to five years of project engineering experience focused on power‑quality solutions, strong knowledge of phenomena such as harmonics, sags and flicker, and proficiency with analysis tools like PSCAD, ETAP or DIgSILENT. Excellent communication, analytical skills, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally are required. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Engineering (master’s degree a plus) with 3‑5 years of relevant project engineering experience. • Possess deep knowledge of power‑quality phenomena and proficiency with analysis tools such as PSCAD, ETAP or DIgSILENT. • Familiarity with active harmonic filters, STATCOMs, power factor correction equipment and industrial control systems. • Demonstrate strong communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and proficiency in MS Office and engineering design software. • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
