About the Role

• Lead delivery of Project Management Commissions and ensure successful outcomes. • Supervise, motivate and develop Project Managers, assistants, graduates and apprentices. • Ensure team members have current, relevant training. • Manage project team outputs to meet schedule and quality standards. • Conduct internal AECOM project team meetings and coordinate information sign‑offs. • Build strong relationships with clients and cross‑functional team members. • Serve as primary client interface for new and existing projects. • Oversee design management, tender documentation, appraisals and negotiations. • Formulate and manage construction contracts. • Pursue business development and cross‑selling opportunities with existing and new clients. • Lead project finance, resourcing, audits and portfolio reviews; develop fee proposals. • Mentor team members toward professional chartership. • Participate in recruitment, retention and training activities.

What You Bring

As a Senior Project Manager based from our Cambridge or Norfolk office, you will need proven experience gained within consultancy or client organisations, focusing on Higher Education, Healthcare, Life Sciences or Defence. You will lead medium to large sized projects with minimal support and provide line‑management to the project team. The role involves working as part of an integrated team on a significant component of a large complex project led by a Director, covering the full lifecycle from business case development through design, procurement, site delivery, commissioning and defects management. We are looking for candidates with a professional qualified degree in Project Management, Construction, Engineering or Quantity Surveying, and chartered status with RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or an equivalent body. Experience in consultancy, strong understanding of construction roles, contracts and CDM 2015 regulations, and proven work in Life Sciences, Tertiary Education or Defence sectors are essential. If you meet some of the requirements or have transferable skills, we would be delighted to hear from you. • Hold a qualified degree in Project Management, Construction, Engineering or Quantity Surveying. • Possess chartered status with RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or an equivalent institution. • Experience working in a consultancy environment. • Strong knowledge of construction project roles, contracts and CDM 2015 regulations. • Proven experience in Life Sciences, Tertiary Education or Defence sectors.
