What You Bring
This entry-level engineering position is the first tier within the engineering classification. The incumbent provides technical expertise to solve problems in a specific area while working under close supervision, and is expected to develop field-specific skills and increasing independence. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from an EAC/ABET-accredited engineering program or an equivalent credential, and possess a solid foundation in engineering theory, electricity, power quality, and distribution construction standards. Strong communication abilities, the capacity to work with diverse stakeholders, and a self-motivated, team-oriented attitude are required, with additional project-management knowledge and utility-industry experience considered assets. • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an EAC/ABET‑accredited engineering program or equivalent qualification. • Understand basic engineering theories and principles. • Interact effectively with individuals from diverse socio‑economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. • Possess good written and oral communication skills. • Understand basic electricity and power quality. • Know distribution construction standards and methods. • Demonstrate self‑motivation and ability to work independently. • Work well in team‑oriented and customer‑oriented environments. • Pass the Engineering Fundamentals Exam (desired). • Understand basic principles of project management (desired). • Have experience in the utility industry (desired).
