About the Role
• Assist in collecting and testing materials to ensure product quality and consistency • Operate and maintain lab and field‑testing equipment under supervision • Accurately document test results and report any variances or irregularities • Support quality control initiatives and learn compliance requirements • Operate in settings with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity and elevated noise levels

What You Bring
The Quality Control (Q/C) Apprentice position is a development opportunity for candidates with little or no experience in materials testing or construction quality control. The role provides hands‑on training, mentorship and a path toward QC Inspector certification within two years, preparing the apprentice for long‑term success in the field. Successful candidates must complete a pre‑employment physical, drug/alcohol screening and background check, and agree to pursue certification within two years. The work is performed in environments that may include moving equipment, inclement weather, noise, heat, cold and humidity. • Demonstrated ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team • Solid communication and documentation skills • Capable of performing physical tasks in varied environmental conditions • Willingness and ability to learn technical procedures and pursue certification • Submit to post‑offer pre‑employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen and background check • Commitment to obtain QC Inspector certification within two years of employment • Additional schooling or coursework required for the role is covered by Heidelberg Materials
