About the Role
The Standard Operations Position is responsible for leading a safe, high‑performing operations team that may span multiple levels, functions, facilities, and commodities. The leader will establish a culture of process adherence and continuous improvement, aligning business area goals with corporate strategies and performance, customer satisfaction, and reliability metrics. Key responsibilities include providing visible safety leadership, managing operational efficiency and data integrity, and driving strategic planning to achieve safety, productivity, and reliability targets. The role also encompasses talent management, workforce planning, labor‑relations issue resolution, building collaborative internal relationships, and ensuring regulatory compliance with company policies and labor agreements. • Lead a safe, high‑performing operations team across multiple levels, functions, and commodities. • Provide visible safety leadership and drive continuous safety improvements. • Manage operational efficiency metrics and enforce process adherence and data integrity. • Develop and execute strategic plans to meet safety, productivity, customer service, and reliability targets. • Oversee talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, and labor‑relations issue resolution. • Build and maintain collaborative internal relationships and deliver solutions meeting stakeholder needs. • Ensure compliance with Xcel Energy policies, labor agreements, and regulatory standards.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least seven years of experience in utility design, construction, operations, or maintenance, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and three years of supervisory experience. Demonstrated expertise in business standards, government regulations, union labor agreements, and analytical reporting is required, along with on‑call availability for emergencies. Preferred qualifications include completion of an approved apprenticeship and knowledge of utility finance, capital, and O&M. • Minimum 7 years experience in utility design, construction, operations or maintenance; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. • At least 3 years of supervisory experience with proven results in performance and metric achievement. • Required on‑call availability for escalated operations and emergencies. • Preferred: completion of an approved apprenticeship and understanding of utility finance, capital and O&M.
