About the Role
The Lead Onshore Pipeline Engineer role is part of KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions team, delivering advanced science, technology and engineering services worldwide while supporting sustainability goals. The position leads pipeline engineering activities across Concept, FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and Detail Engineering phases for oil and gas projects, ensuring high‑quality, safe and timely delivery in line with project requirements, international codes and standards. Key responsibilities include developing design strategies, performing calculations such as stress analysis, buckling and buoyancy assessments, reviewing P&IDs and routing drawings, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing scope and schedule changes, providing risk mitigation, mentoring junior engineers, and supporting field execution and as‑built documentation. • Lead pipeline engineering from concept through detailed design for oil & gas projects • Develop and review design strategies, standards, procedures and calculations (stress, buckling, buoyancy, etc.) • Ensure compliance with ASME B31.4, B31.8, API RP 1101 and project specifications • Review and approve P&IDs, isometrics, routing drawings, material lists and design basis memoranda • Coordinate with process, mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, materials, corrosion, safety, construction, geotechnical, structural and civil teams • Manage scope, schedule and budget changes; conduct risk assessments with mitigation plans • Mentor and train junior engineers; provide technical reviews and feedback • Support field execution, conduct site visits and produce as‑built documentation

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least 15 years of onshore pipeline engineering experience, EPCM background, and preferably previous ADNOC EPC exposure, flexibility to handle multiple projects, and experience in Iraq field development; offshore pipeline knowledge is a plus. A bachelor’s degree in pipeline, mechanical or a related engineering discipline is required, with chartered status advantageous; proficiency in AutoPIPE, Caesar II, MathCAD and strong knowledge of relevant codes (ASME B31.4, B31.8, API) are mandatory. Soft‑skill expectations cover integrity, leadership, clear communication, problem‑solving, project and stakeholder management, and adaptability to dynamic, multicultural project environments. • Minimum 15 + years onshore pipeline engineering experience, including concept, FEED and detailed design • Prior ADNOC EPC experience and familiarity with ADNOC procedures preferred • Experience with Iraq field development projects; constructability, procurement and commissioning knowledge desirable • Bachelor’s degree in pipeline, mechanical or related engineering; chartered status a plus • Proficient in AutoPIPE, Caesar II, MathCAD and other pipeline design software • Strong knowledge of mechanical design, stress analysis, routing optimization, crossing design and buckling mitigation • Ability to apply HSE practices and risk assessment methodologies • Demonstrated leadership, communication and project management skills
