About the Role

The Mobile Maintenance Technician supports the Assistant/Chief Engineer and Senior Facilities Manager in daily maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment for clients in the Western Suburbs. The role focuses on ensuring HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems run efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime, while maintaining detailed records of operations and repairs. Key responsibilities include preventive maintenance and work order execution for mechanical, electrical, lighting, and other installed systems. The technician performs major HVAC repairs (compressor, condenser, coil replacements), plumbing repairs (water piping, steam traps, sewage lines, fixtures), and electrical work such as conduit installation, cable pulling, panel maintenance, and motor predictive maintenance. Additional duties cover operation and repair of boilers, pumps, valves, refrigerant systems, building automation, elevators, sanitary sewers, trash compactors, and kitchen equipment. General maintenance tasks involve minor repairs to fixtures, lighting, doors, flooring, painting, and cleaning of mechanical spaces. The technician is responsible for vehicle upkeep, including service, registration, insurance, and expense processing, and may travel between client sites, including underground Controlled Environmental Vaults that require special safety measures. • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems. • Conduct major HVAC repairs, including compressor, condenser, and coil replacements. • Execute plumbing repairs such as water piping, steam trap, sewage line, and fixture replacements. • Perform electrical tasks: conduit installation, cable pulling, panel maintenance, and motor predictive maintenance. • Operate and service boilers, pumps, valves, refrigerant compressors, and building automation systems. • Inspect facilities, document conditions, and submit monthly operational reports. • Manage inventory, order parts, and recommend improvements to preventive maintenance programs. • Ensure compliance with all codes, regulations, safety procedures, and company policies. • Maintain assigned company vehicle, including service, registration, insurance, and expense reporting.

What You Bring

Candidates must possess strong communication, organizational, technical, and problem‑solving skills, with a sense of urgency. A high school diploma or GED is required; completion of an apprenticeship or trade school is preferred. At least four years of experience in building engineering, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems is needed, along with a valid driver’s license, relevant trade licenses, and EPA Section 608 refrigerant certification.
