About the Role
The position focuses on performing system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools, troubleshooting basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems, and responding to warranty calls. You will provide customers with high-level service to solve building inefficiencies and act as a trusted advisor during service visits. Delivering outcomes and recommendations on the spot is a key expectation. Typical duties include loading controller software, conducting basic commissioning and diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices, and keeping management and the contractor or customer informed of progress. You will calibrate systems with electronic test equipment, complete administrative tasks such as timesheets and expense reports, and document changes for as-built records. Communication with the client at arrival and departure, adherence to safety standards, and offering recommendations—including upselling opportunities—are integral parts of the role. Providing quotes to support those recommendations is also required. • Perform system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration tools. • Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls issues. • Respond to warranty calls and provide high-level customer service. • Load system-level controller software and conduct diagnostics on sensors and actuators. • Keep management, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues. • Calibrate systems with basic electronic test equipment. • Complete administrative tasks including timesheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation. • Document changes and contribute to as-built records. • Communicate with clients upon arrival and departure from the job site. • Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training. • Provide recommendations, upselling opportunities, and quotes to improve facility efficiency. • Exhibit leadership to support mechanics on non-complex building automation equipment.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a two-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or related field, or possesses at least three years of relevant industry experience. Required knowledge includes HVAC control systems, facilities management, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to explain technical information to diverse audiences, and leadership capabilities to support mechanics on non-complex projects are essential. Proficiency with PC applications and HVAC-related software programming is also needed. • Possess a 2-year degree in a related field or at least 3 years of HVAC industry experience. • Understand HVAC control systems, facilities management, site preparation, and equipment installation. • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. • Proficient in PC usage and programming HVAC-related software.
