About the Role
The Engineer provides support across all development stages, from viability advice through design, consent and construction guidance, ensuring designs are cost‑effective, compliant and practical while coordinating with consultants and NHBC. Core duties involve preparing viabilities, interpreting technical reports, producing early site designs, procuring utility proposals, managing consultants for civil and structural works, and coordinating with statutory bodies to resolve engineering issues. • Conduct viability assessments and interpret geotechnical data to advise early site constraints. • Generate preliminary site layouts and utility designs, securing quotes for new proposals. • Ensure full compliance with CDM regulations throughout the design process. • Lead and coordinate civil and structural consultants to deliver cost‑effective road, sewer, cut‑and‑fill and foundation designs. • Liaise with highway authorities, water companies and the Environment Agency to resolve statutory engineering matters. • Oversee the preparation of foundations and plot drainage, monitoring CML issues to keep construction on schedule. • Secure all necessary technical approvals and attend pre‑tender, pre‑start and regular site meetings. • Perform regular site inspections to verify design implementation and address emerging issues. • Apply thorough knowledge of building regulations, NHBC standards and ground‑condition assessment techniques. • Interpret environmental and geotechnical reports to formulate practical recommendations. • Negotiate successful technical consents and maintain strong relationships with key engineering partners.

What You Bring
Applicants should possess extensive house‑building engineering experience, an accredited engineering qualification, strong computer skills in AutoCAD and related software, and a thorough understanding of regulations and ground‑condition assessments. • Hold extensive experience in house‑building infrastructure such as roads, sewers, foundations and land drainage. • Possess an engineering degree or equivalent, preferably accredited by RICS or ICE. • Demonstrate high proficiency in AutoCAD, PDS, WindES and MicroDrainage for in‑house design work.
