The Maintenance Technician A works under the direct supervision of a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager, performing repair and maintenance on diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. Responsibilities include chassis components, refuse bodies with control, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brake systems, engine work, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. The role offers training on new technologies, a stable regular shift, competitive wages, and clear career growth paths while supporting drivers and the community. The technician must maintain advanced knowledge and skill proficiency across vehicle components, allowing complex repairs both on‑site and on the road. Duties span chassis repairs, refuse body systems, air and hydraulic brakes, engine maintenance, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC, and welding/fabrication. They use electronic diagnostic tools, complete company training programs, and perform additional job‑related tasks as needed. Candidates need at least three years of heavy‑duty truck experience and the ability to inspect and repair systems such as suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions without constant supervision. ASE Heavy Truck Certifications, LNG/CNG experience, and a Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License are preferred but not required. A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
