About the Role

Under general supervision the technician performs non‑routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, using operational precedents and receiving technical advice from supervisors or engineers. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy and may involve planning assignments and collaborating with engineers, technicians, and other professionals. Key duties include setting up and operating a wide variety of critical test equipment, modifying procedures as needed, recording and analyzing complex data, and preparing detailed test reports. The technician also constructs experimental or prototype models, conducts tests, redesigns as necessary, and extracts engineering data from field notes, manuals, and lab reports, identifying errors and selecting appropriate data presentation methods. • Conduct environmental testing for CBRNE experiments at multiple U.S. test sites. • Set up, modify, and operate critical test equipment and procedures. • Record, analyze, and report complex test data and findings. • Build and calibrate experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements. • Extract and compile engineering data from field notes, manuals, and lab reports, correcting errors and preparing presentations. • Apply limited segments of R&D methods under guidance.

What You Bring

The position requires strong computer skills and a high degree of knowledge of electronics and electronic systems for data acquisition. Preferred expertise includes soldering, electronic construction, maintenance and calibration, as well as experience with high‑explosive test support and CBRNE research. A DoD SECRET security clearance is required. Candidates should have an AS degree in Engineering Technology, a certificate in electronics, or a related field, or at least three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education. • Proficient computer skills and strong knowledge of electronics and data acquisition systems. • Soldering expertise and experience in electronic construction, maintenance, and calibration. • Experience with high‑explosive test support and CBRNE research preferred. • Knowledge of transducers, timing/firing systems, networking, wireless transmission, optical or seismic instrumentation is a plus. • Excellent oral and written communication abilities. • DoD SECRET security clearance required. • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, electronics certificate, or related field (preferred) or ≥3 years relevant experience.
