About the Role
As a Cleaner on the BGIS Sustainable Cleaning Solutions team, you will be responsible for maintaining a designated zone with a focus on quality control, health and safety, and exceeding client expectations. You will report to the Manager or Supervisor and perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed. • Sweep, scrub, vacuum, and mop hard‑surface floors using manual, handheld, walk‑behind, or automatic equipment. • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors manually or with power tools. • Clean glass areas, washroom floors, stairwells, elevator cabs, and carpeted surfaces (steam clean/shampoo). • Transport and store garbage, cleaning equipment, and supplies between floors and job sites. • Load, unload, and replenish cleaning solutions while following WHMIS chemical safety procedures. • Use ladders, scaffolding, or extension equipment to reach elevated cleaning areas. • Remove snow, ice, and debris from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas using plows, blowers, or melt chemicals. • Report major repairs or building system issues to management. • Operate floor maintenance machines and other cleaning equipment safely. • Lift, push, pull heavy items (up to 25 lb) and climb ladders as required. • Maintain professional relationships with staff, clients, and the public. • Work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts across multiple locations. • Apply knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act provisions and WHMIS in daily tasks.

What You Bring
• Hold a valid Class G driver’s license and meet security‑clearance requirements, if applicable. • Demonstrate experience in institutional cleaning, housekeeping, and floor‑maintenance equipment usage.
