About the Role
This role is responsible for planning, monitoring, and coordinating daily project activities of all mechanical structures in buildings and infrastructure within the construction process. It leads and manages all mechanical engineering activities related to greenfield projects for a beverage plant, ensuring operational readiness, safety, and compliance with quality standards. The Senior Project Engineer will lead mechanical engineering efforts for the entire greenfield plant, including installation of bottling lines, CIP systems, piping, HVAC, pumps, compressors, utilities, and structural supports. Responsibilities include vendor management, contract negotiation, commissioning activities, and coordination with civil, electrical, instrumentation, and automation teams. The engineer will develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets specifically for the mechanical scope. Project management duties involve planning, scheduling, and executing mechanical aspects of projects, such as equipment installation, piping, HVAC, utilities, and structural support systems. The role requires close coordination with cross‑functional teams, daily monitoring of construction work, site inspections, quality and safety compliance, and thorough documentation of inspections, tests, progress, materials, and labor hours. The engineer will identify, evaluate, and select vendors and contractors for mechanical works, oversee their performance, ensure adherence to specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations, and manage contracts and payments. Coordination with contractor representatives and quality engineers for material submittals and non‑compliance closure is also required. Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and food‑safety regulations (FSSC 22000, HACCP) is a key responsibility. The engineer will conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures related to mechanical works throughout the project lifecycle. • Lead mechanical engineering for greenfield beverage plant, overseeing bottling lines, CIP, piping, HVAC, pumps, utilities, and structural supports. • Coordinate design and installation with civil, electrical, instrumentation, and automation teams. • Develop detailed mechanical project plans, timelines, and budgets. • Manage vendor selection, contracts, negotiations, and ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. • Supervise daily construction activities, conduct site inspections, and enforce safety and quality procedures. • Perform quality assurance tasks, including inspections, non‑compliance reporting, and verification of materials and drawings. • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and food‑safety standards (FSSC 22000, HACCP) and conduct risk assessments. • Maintain comprehensive documentation: installation reports, commissioning records, manuals, and handover packages. • Provide regular project status, risk, and budget updates to senior management. • Meet KPI targets: on‑time, on‑budget delivery; safety and quality compliance; successful equipment commissioning; minimized downtime; vendor performance.

The ideal candidate holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with 8‑10 years of experience in beverage, bottling, FMCG, or Oil & Gas/Chemical/Pharmaceutical projects. They possess technical awareness of civil, electro‑mechanical, and architectural works, proven medium‑to‑large scale project management experience, strong organizational and motivational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • Required: B.E. Mechanical, 8‑10 years experience in beverage/FMCG or Oil & Gas/Chemical/Pharma projects. • Proven experience managing medium‑to‑large scale projects and strong organizational and communication skills.
