Distribution Designer III

About the Role

• Assist in design development to meet project schedules. • Review designs to ensure compliance with client's construction standards. • Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and Industry/Company standards covering the assigned work. • Review construction drawings for neatness and design accuracy. • This work includes the review of field notes, drawings, specifications, and estimates as defined by the client's scope of work document. • Review engineering calculations (pole loading, pole boring, guying, transformer sizing, conductor loading / sagging, etc.) • Review other associated paperwork such as Bill of Materials, Pole Boring, Pole Loading, guying documents, along with other requirements deemed necessary by clients. • Review of Compatible/Macro Units within client's GIS/WMS systems. • Review any major documentation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions. • Identify design issues and provide constructive feedback and training to the design team. • The QAQC individual may be responsible to provide direction, training, supervision and guidance of other individuals in this job group of equal or lower grade as directed by the Manager. • Perform detailed QAQC of overhead and/or underground electric distribution projects.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in distribution design at senior level preferred. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering/Design or related field. • Working knowledge of the practices and procedures pertaining to the QA/QC technical matters in Electrical Engineering, GIS systems, CADD.
