About the Role

The role’s core responsibility is to safely operate a heavy‑duty truck on transfer routes. Drivers must follow Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT) and all local, state and federal regulations while maintaining a clean and safe vehicle. This position has no supervisory duties; drivers report to Operations Managers and Dispatch. • Operate heavy‑duty truck safely, complying with OSHA, DOT and company standards. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections using DVIR and report any issues. • Immediately report unsafe situations, incidents, accidents, or property damage to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Participate in scheduled training, briefings and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency and address unsafe accounts. • Assist other drivers as directed and follow assigned route schedules. • Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager. • Dump containers, clean the site, and position containers properly on customer property. • Complete and submit customer tickets for excess yardage and finalize route documentation.
