Sheet Metal Duct Installer

About the Role

The role involves selecting sheet metal according to building or design plans, measuring and marking dimensions, drilling holes for screws, bolts, and rivets, and installing and cutting metal sheets with supportive frameworks. Installers will also fabricate or alter parts at construction sites, maneuver and anchor large sheet metal components, and fasten seams or joints by welding, bolting, riveting, or soldering. Additional tasks include on‑site or shop fabrication, setting hangers, and trimming, fitting, hanging, and sealing ductwork. • Select sheet metal based on building or design plans • Measure, mark, and drill metal sheets for installation • Install and cut metal sheets with supportive frameworks • Fabricate or alter parts on construction sites • Maneuver and anchor large sheet metal components • Fasten seams by welding, bolting, riveting, or soldering • Set hangers and trim, fit, hang, and seal ductwork
