About the Role
The position involves working alongside Project Managers and Supervising Engineers to provide technical oversight on tasks such as preparing roadway and highway design plans from conceptual layouts to final contract documents, including horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, grading, and traffic protection. Responsibilities also include producing quantity calculations, cost estimates, and supporting specifications, drafting technical reports and design studies, and leading field visits for condition assessments and inventory of critical design elements. Collaboration with multidisciplinary engineers and technicians, as well as involvement in project budgeting, scheduling, and scope adherence, are also expected. • Collaborate with Project Managers and Supervising Engineers on transportation and civil projects. • Prepare roadway/highway design plans from conceptual layout to final contract documents, including alignments, profiles, grading, and traffic protection. • Generate quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and supporting specifications. • Draft technical reports and design studies. • Lead field visits to assess conditions and inventory critical design elements. • Coordinate with multidisciplinary design engineers and technicians. • Assist with project budgeting, scheduling, and scope compliance. • Participate in professional organizations and technical societies.

What You Bring
NV5 is seeking passionate, driven individuals to join a multi‑discipline design team focused on delivering transportation and civil engineering solutions. The role requires 6–12 years of civil engineering experience, the ability to work in a team environment, and supervision of Engineer or Junior Engineer staff. Candidates will have exposure to highway/roadway design, stormwater/drainage, traffic, surveying, environmental and structural aspects of projects, ranging from local road resurfacing to large‑scale highway improvements and specialized amphibian crossing infrastructure. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and possess 6–12 years of roadway/civil engineering experience. Proficiency with MicroStation InRoads is required, and a New Jersey PE license is desired. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. • Possess 6–12 years of roadway/civil engineering experience. • Proficient in MicroStation InRoads. • Possess a New Jersey PE license (desired).

Benefits
The advertised salary range is $90,000 to $100,000 per year, with final pay dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include restricted stock units and a full suite of medical, financial, and other benefits, in accordance with the company’s compensation package.
