About the Role
Step into a pivotal role within an ASX‑listed organisation, where you’ll partner closely with the business to bring our strategy to life through our greatest asset, our people. Based in any major Australian city, you’ll report to the P&C Manager for Defence and take full ownership of your own diverse portfolio. As a true HR generalist, you’ll be at the heart of shaping our people experience, driving initiatives across employee relations, performance and change management, workforce planning, engagement, training and development, recruitment, and career/talent growth. • Build constructive union relationships and support industrial relations negotiations for strategic, commercially sound outcomes. • Provide timely, accurate, compliant employee relations advice to resolve people matters. • Partner with senior leaders to deliver people objectives and execute People Plans aligned with business strategy. • Support a high‑performance culture through quality initiatives, organisational design and effective workforce planning. • Lead design, management and implementation of change initiatives. • Advise on recruitment in line with budgets, headcount and remuneration guidelines. • Promote consistent application of Ventia policies, governance and compliance standards. • Collaborate with internal functions (ER, People Services, Payroll) to ensure accurate and timely people processes. • Implement strategic and operational people initiatives aligned to sector business plans. • Ensure consistent performance plans in SuccessFactors and champion a “Safe for Life” culture.

What You Bring
• Degree in Business, HR or related field, or equivalent experience. • Strong HR background with solid ER/IR expertise and employment law knowledge. • Experience in a services‑based environment and leading teams. • Solid enterprise agreement negotiation experience. • Skilled in talent management, change management and conflict resolution. • Excellent judgment, communication and relationship‑building abilities. • Demonstrates alignment with Ventia’s values, strong ethics and a growth mindset. • Strategic thinker who delivers results with urgency and embraces innovation.
