About the Role
• Perform repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on diverse mining, quarry, and plant equipment. • Diagnose and fix issues in engines, brakes, transmissions, hydraulics, drivetrain, HVAC, and electrical systems. • Conduct major maintenance repairs and scheduled servicing of heavy equipment and trucks. • Complete accurate maintenance and work‑order records. • Inspect machines for abnormalities and defects. • Weld and fabricate components as needed. • Manage parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost control. • Perform housekeeping duties and work‑area checks. • Operate mobile equipment and company vehicles on site and public roads. • Build effective relationships with colleagues and vendors.

What You Bring
Rogers Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for its underground limestone mine/quarry in Verona, KY. The mechanic will perform repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on a wide variety of mining, quarry, and fixed‑plant equipment, troubleshooting major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, hydraulics, drivetrain, HVAC, and electrical systems. The ideal candidate demonstrates an uncompromising focus on safety and has at least five years of heavy‑equipment experience. They are capable of performing major repairs, routine maintenance, and detailed inspections on heavy machinery and trucks. The role requires accurate completion of maintenance and work‑order records, welding and fabrication skills, and familiarity with parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost control. Additionally, the mechanic must conduct housekeeping duties, operate mobile equipment and company vehicles, and work independently with limited supervision. The position demands the ability to lift 70 lb, climb up to 20 ft, work in all weather conditions, and be available for weekend overtime. Benefits
The starting pay for this role is $36 per hour, which includes a $34 base wage and a $2 shift differential; overall compensation will be adjusted based on the candidate’s experience and skill set.
