What You Bring

Downer has secured the Property and Asset Services contract to provide base and estate services across NSW/ACT and QLD, marking a significant milestone in its 80‑plus year partnership with the Australian Defence Force. We are recruiting permanent Aerodrome Operators for RAAF Williamtown, with a start date in February 2026, and we welcome candidates from all backgrounds, whether they have defence experience, industry knowledge, or transferable skills. Applicants must hold a Certificate IV in Aviation (Ground Operations and Service) and have a current driver’s licence. Desired qualifications include a Certificate III/IV in Horticulture, CASA Aerodrome Reporting Officer certification, and CASA/DASA endorsement for Queensland or New South Wales. Candidates must be able to obtain a Defence Security Clearance, which requires Australian citizenship, and demonstrate a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to high‑quality outcomes. • Hold Certificate IV in Aviation (Ground Operations and Service). • Possess CASA Aerodrome Reporting Officer certification (desirable). • Maintain a current driver’s licence and obtain Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship required). • Demonstrate strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to quality outcomes.
