About the Role

Bridge engineers perform a variety of design and analysis duties for structural projects, including bridge rehabilitations, replacements, rail/transit structures, tolling gantries, tunnel structures, and airport facilities. They prepare drawings, specifications, engineering calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and geometric designs using CAE/CAD applications. Engineers also review supplier submittals, assist with bid quantity calculations, develop construction‑related plans for design/build projects, and conduct fieldwork as needed. Additional engineering support is provided as required under close supervision to meet customer quality requirements. • Perform design and analysis for bridges, rail/transit structures, tunnels, and airport facilities • Create drawings, specifications, and procurement documents using CAE/CAD tools • Prepare engineering calculations, material takeoffs, cost estimates, and geometric designs • Review supplier submittals and assist with bid quantity calculations • Develop construction plans and conduct fieldwork for design/build projects • Provide additional engineering support as required under supervision

Our bridge engineers deliver technical solutions and detailed designs through construction for medium to large and complex bridge projects in the New York metropolitan area and across the globe. We support structural design projects for bridges, tunnels, airports, and rail/transit programs, backed by a strong backlog of work. The New York office is a center of excellence known for long‑span, cable‑supported, and moveable bridge work, with marquee projects such as the new Goethals Bridge, the Third Tacoma Narrows Bridge, the new Fore River Lift Bridge, and major rehabilitative work on the Brooklyn Bridge. We have proficiency in all bridge types, including long‑span, segmental, cable‑stayed, movable, suspension, and conventional bridges. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field and typically at least five years of relevant experience. An Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certificate may be required, and a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred or may be required. Candidates join a team delivering innovative and impactful infrastructure projects and will advance their engineering career with Parsons. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years experience; EIT or PE license may be required
