About the Role
The laborer’s duties include controlling traffic around work zones and preparing and cleaning construction sites. Additional tasks involve signaling equipment operators, handling and distributing materials, measuring and marking layout areas, digging and backfilling trenches, operating pumps and generators, and maintaining clean tools and work areas. • Control traffic near, in, or around work zones. • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards. • Signal equipment operators to align or move machinery. • Load, unload, and distribute building materials and tools per project specifications. • Measure, mark, and record openings or distances for layout. • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth to grade specifications. • Tend pumps, compressors, or generators to power tools and move materials. • Clean tools, equipment, and work areas. • Comply with company safety policies and procedures.

What You Bring
Candidates must be able to listen, understand, and follow directions, and adapt to various roles. They must adhere to MasTec’s safety policies, possess at least a high school diploma or GED, and have three to six months of related field construction experience. • Follow directions and adapt to multiple roles. • Hold a High School Diploma or GED (preferred). • Possess 3–6 months of related field construction experience.
