About the Role

The Project Cost Control Specialist gathers and analyzes project schedules, quantities, and daily logs to produce weekly cost reports and monthly financial summaries. Using the JMP process, the specialist recommends cost‑target adjustments, supports overall cost‑saving strategies, and collaborates with the project team on change orders, budgeting, procurements, billing, and cash‑management activities. The role also oversees inventory, maintains concrete and rebar logs, and champions a safety‑first, Incident‑and‑Injury‑Free environment. • Gather and analyze project schedules, quantities, and daily logs using the JMP process. • Produce weekly cost reports and draft monthly financial reports. • Recommend daily cost target adjustments and overall cost‑saving measures (procurement, delivery scheduling, resource management). • Collaborate on change orders, budget revisions, procurements, billing, cash management, and invoice approvals. • Prepare and process subcontractor changes and billing for manager approval. • Oversee inventory management, supplier billing, and stored‑material billing. • Maintain concrete and rebar logs and other project documentation. • Promote an Incident‑and‑Injury‑Free (IIF) environment and adhere to safety protocols. • Read, interpret, and apply technical procedures, regulations, contracts, specifications, and drawings. • Write clear reports, business correspondence, and procedural documents. • Deliver presentations and respond to stakeholder inquiries effectively. • Utilize software such as Timberline, Primavera, BIM, Filenet, Bindr, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Apply mathematical concepts, cost accounting principles, and statistical analysis to project data. • Provide strong internal customer service and constructive feedback to improve project profitability.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and at least two years of construction experience. Required competencies include reading and interpreting technical documents, writing reports, presenting information, and providing strong internal customer service. Proficiency with construction software (e.g., Timberline, Primavera, BIM, Filenet, Bindr) and Microsoft Office, as well as solid mathematical, cost‑accounting, and statistical analysis skills, is essential. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience with 2 + years construction experience.
