About the Role
The Inside Sales Support Estimator partners with sales and operations to design building automation system controls, create project takeoffs and cost estimates, and coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing. This role works closely with contractors, engineers, and internal teams to develop accurate proposals, select appropriate control components, and ensure a seamless transition from pre‑construction to execution. • Design mechanical systems controls, select sensors, valves, end devices, and develop network designs (Alerton, Distech, Honeywell, Tridium). • Survey buildings and create optimal designs to meet customer requirements. • Perform project takeoffs and calculate material, labor, and installation costs. • Obtain subcontractor and vendor quotes before bid deadlines. • Communicate with MEP engineers, contractors, and vendors via calls, email, and virtual meetings for coordination and RFI discussions. • Lead pre‑bid meetings to review and finalize estimated costs. • Assist the sales team in preparing bid proposals. • Maintain project documentation, including plans, addenda, and turnover summaries, on the company server. • Participate in project turnover meetings with engineering and operations teams. • Conduct site visits to gather information for system engineering when documentation is insufficient. • Sit, stand, and walk in office environments and construction sites. • Work in clean, well‑lit office spaces with low‑to‑moderate noise levels. • Perform on‑site visits with customers or contractors across various environments.

What You Bring
• Minimum high school diploma. • At least 1 year of estimating, designing, or installing experience in building automation or mechanical industry. • Minimum 1 year of commercial HVAC experience. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. • Clear verbal and written communication skills. • Experience estimating material and labor costs. • Understanding of mechanical systems and control design. • 2+ years of estimating in building automation/mechanical or commercial HVAC (preferred). • Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or related field (preferred). • Familiarity with Tridium, Distech, Honeywell, or Alerton control systems. • Knowledge of product selection for sensors, valves, materials, and end devices. • Experience with Bluebeam, BidTracer, or similar takeoff software. • Advanced expertise in mechanical systems controls and network design. • Ability to read, write, and interpret sequences of operation. • Proven proposal writing and value communication skills. • Experience conducting project turnover meetings. • Communicate effectively in English (see, hear, speak, write). • Manual dexterity for light office tasks and equipment operation. • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 lb and work at heights over 1.8 m. • Travel to customer sites is required; limited overnight travel may occur.
