About the Role
The Senior Associate Director/Deputy Head of Rails will support the Head of Rails and senior management in delivery and operations, grow the India team’s headcount, and lead the team handling rail projects. The role demands strong technical knowledge of the rail sector, leadership ability, client confidence, and a drive for innovative solutions. • Develop technical solutions to complex rail problems with minimal supervision. • Provide overall technical direction and independently determine solution approaches. • Make decisions proactively and act on own initiative. • Maintain affiliation with professional societies to stay current on technologies. • Collaborate with senior management to formulate business continuity strategy. • Enhance communication channels between businesses, support functions, and management. • Implement important policies and processes. • Serve as interface between support functions and business. • Implement efficient processes to streamline work between businesses and support functions. • Oversee adoption of new technology solutions in the businesses. • Report regularly to senior management on performance, issues, and suggest improvements. • Build consensus and relationships among business leads, management, and employees. • Introduce and improve processes, securing buy‑in from stakeholders.

What You Bring
• Possess extensive rail market experience, including UK, UAE, US, Canada, and Middle East (preferred). • Knowledge of rail design services, regulations, and technical standards. • Collaborate as a team player with strong interpersonal skills. • Excellent communication and influencing skills. • Strong business negotiation and people management abilities. • Strong managerial acumen and familiarity with business administration principles. • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks. • Demonstrated leadership skills and high stress tolerance. • Ability to deliver results under pressure. • Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution. • Over 15 years of civil engineering experience, preferably with UK, Middle East, or US exposure. • Ability to see the bigger picture and take a bird’s‑eye view of projects. • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. • Accountability, accuracy, and precision in assigned work. • Strong problem‑solving skills.
