About the Role

The role is responsible for procuring direct materials in compliance with plant and corporate quality and supply chain regulations. The incumbent communicates and coordinates with network schedulers to provide plan and execution updates. They understand material requirements, process requisitions, and generate purchase orders for suppliers. Close collaboration with suppliers ensures timely delivery to the plant. Exception messages such as postponement, anticipation, or cancellation of orders are executed and internal escalations are managed. The individual resolves internal discrepancies with operations and external issues with suppliers, including delivery problems, claims, and quality concerns. They work closely with logistics partners and suppliers to meet delivery requirements under the appropriate incoterms. Supply performance is evaluated and monitored, and corrective or preventive actions are implemented with suppliers and category managers to improve on‑time performance. Supplier invoice management and support in resolving holds are provided to ensure timely payments. Inventory levels are maintained according to set objectives, using inputs from inventory analysts and network schedulers to optimize stock. Coordination with Supplier Quality and suppliers handles RMA of defective parts and reverse logistics. Collaboration with Engineering, Product Managers, and Category Managers supports phase‑in/out and ECN management. Purchasing data—such as unit price changes, lead times, MOQ, MOV, and sourcing status—is maintained in partnership with Data Health and Commodity teams, leveraging digital SCM tools for efficiency. The role shares best materials management practices, drives continuous process improvement, and ensures compliance with materials planning and reporting aligned with the global supply chain organization. Purchasing excellence initiatives use expertise to improve metrics, standardize best practices across sites, and collaborate with materials management and buying teams to update lead times and stocking levels for uninterrupted supply. Over‑buy and under‑buy analysis is performed to manage excess inventory. • Procure direct materials following QA and SCM regulations. • Generate and manage purchase orders to meet material requirements. • Coordinate plan and execution updates with network schedulers. • Ensure on‑time delivery by working closely with suppliers. • Execute exception messages and manage internal escalations. • Resolve delivery, claim, and quality issues with suppliers and operations. • Monitor supply performance (SOTD) and implement corrective actions. • Manage supplier invoices and resolve payment holds. • Optimize inventory levels using analyst inputs and network scheduling. • Handle RMA and reverse logistics for defective parts. • Maintain purchasing data (prices, lead times, MOQ, sourcing) with data teams. • Drive continuous improvement, share best practices, and ensure compliance with global supply chain processes.

What You Bring
