About the Role
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and documenting control systems for various automated equipment, as well as troubleshooting robot controllers, ladder logic, electrical devices, and mechanical units. The engineer will perform machine power‑up, debugging, and programming tasks while ensuring equipment conforms to specifications using standard techniques. Additional duties involve working with peripheral equipment and transfer devices. The list is indicative and may evolve with project needs. • Design, implement, and document control systems for automated equipment. • Troubleshoot robot controllers, ladder logic, electrical and mechanical components. • Perform machine power‑up, debugging, and programming. • Ensure equipment meets specifications using standard techniques. • Travel up to 35‑50% to customer sites and JR locations. • On‑site work at the Lake Orion, MI facility.

What You Bring
The position is based onsite at the Lake Orion, Michigan facility, where the engineer will collaborate with top talent in the automation industry. The role offers exposure to state‑of‑the‑art robotics, mechatronics, and advanced control technologies. Engineers will continually strengthen and challenge their skills through diverse project experiences. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, an Associate’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience, or equivalent qualifications. Prior experience in automation, especially with Siemens TIA Portal, PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion control, vision systems, and CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks, is strongly preferred. The ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings is required. Travel of 35‑50 % to customer sites and other JR locations is expected. • Hold a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. • Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion control, vision systems. • Proficient in CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks. • Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings.
